How Can Qigong Help Me Sleep Better?

What is qigong?

Qigong (pronounced chee-gong and also known as quigong, chi gong, chi gung, qui gong) is a series of ancient Chinese exercises which use breathing and imagination or visualization to improve all areas of human health, physical, mental and spiritual. It has been practiced in China for over five thousand years.

These days it is widely accepted that Chinese medicine has a lot to offer that our traditional western medicine does not. Many doctors and clinics in the west are now recommending qigong to their patients. Not as an alternative to western medicine, but more as a complementary companion to our drugs and surgery.

Western medicine aims to cure sickness and its symptoms whereas Chinese medicine is more about prevention of disease and enabling the human system to heal itself.

The Chinese believe all sickness is caused by blockages in the chi (or qui) energy in the human body. Qigong not only brings more energy into the body, it also balances the energies. If the energy remains blocked or out of balance for a long period of time, this can lead to disease in the body.

Qigong allows the body to heal itself by putting the body's yin and yang energy into balance. It can also heal us when we are sick. It is gentle and relaxing and very easy to practice. Even ten minutes a day is beneficial and you will find yourself feeling calm and energized.

Qigong exercise

Qigong is probably easier to learn than tai chi and is a more gentle form of exercise. It comprises breathing, body posture and visualization. It can be performed standing, sitting or lying down making it very suitable for sick, disabled or elderly people. It is probably easier to learn the exercises visually, from an instructor or a video or DVD.

How can qigong help me to sleep better?

There are several ways qigong can help us sleep soundly and more deeply. It is an excellent "stress reducer". I have personally found it to be equal or even superior to yoga in this way. And because it can be so simple to practice (and I'm rather lazy!) Its quite easy to find a few minutes a day to do one or two of the exercises.

Stress reduction is an instantaneous result of practicing qigong but there are other benefits. If you have trouble sleeping due to chronic pain or discomfort, even back pain, qigong can help here too. Qigong may be practiced standing, sitting, lying down, walking or even sitting in front of a computer!

Do you suffer with narcolepsy? Troubled with restless legs syndrome? Are you depressed? These are all areas that qigong can assist. It will balance the body’s energy and gently help the self healing of virtually any complaint.

Sounds to good to be true!

The human body is actually designed to heal itself. Trouble is it gets stuffed full of junk food, cigarette smoke and exhaust fumes. It is subject to stresses from job, neighbors or relatives. It gets plunked on the couch and not moved for hours! No wonder it gets sick!

Spring Forest Qigong is a program which has distilled all the ancient wisdom of this healing process into a simple easy to follow set of exercises. The master, Chunyi Lin, has had over 20 years experience with the practice of qigong and he has dedicated his life to passing on its many benefits to all who want to heal themselves, body, mind and spirit. Spring Forest Qigong is endorsed by best selling author Deepak Chopra.

One medical doctor says "Qigong is as important as antibiotics and immunizations"

Spring Forest Qigong also comes on DVD so its easy to follow.

I personally use this program. At the moment all I do is 15 minutes most days. I am already feeling the benefits and am reaping the rewards of better sleep and less stress. Check it out.

This ancient "practice" can take away stress, pain, and sickness at amazing speeds…leaving you with more energy. Click here to learn how.

What causes energy blockages?

Blockages can be caused by many things, not all of them under our control. Emotional stress, bad diet, changes in the weather, pollution and injury are some causes. Our modern lifestyle, fast foods and insufficient time to relax all contribute to energy blockages.

So what else can qigong do?

Well you name it, qigong can fix it! I’ll list just some:

•Headaches and migraine

•Depression

•Stress and Anxiety

•Fibromyalgia

•Weight problems

•Allergies

•Cancer

•Arthritis

•Immune disorders

•Asthma

•Digestive upsets

•Reinforces the immune system

•Diabetes

•Stroke

•Hearing and Sight

•Gallstones and kidney stones

•Post Traumatic Stress disorder

•Thyroid and glandular dysfunction

•Circulation problems

•Panic attacks

So I have actually purchased this programme instead of health insurance!
