Ways to Battle Insomnia
Life is full of stressors that triggers stress, thus battling insomnia is the last thing anyone needs in life. The best insomnia cure is to shun away from those things that promote the possibility of insomnia.
Occasionally we all lose sleep during the night hours. There are times when our minds refuse to shut down during sleeping hours. There is an assortment of reasons that sleep will not come and few of them may be connected to excitement or stress. Other reasons such as drinking coffee or other caffeine based substances at night can also put off sleep. Alcohol may appear to relax the mind, but it does just the opposite. At night, alcohol should be avoided since even if you do fall asleep, you will lose REM sleep, which is required to feel stress-free. My best insomnia cure advice, avoid these and you have rid yourself major causes of sleep problems.
If you had an exciting day, you may lose a night sleep dwelling on the day. An assortment of reasons can cause a person to lose sleep. Nonetheless if sleepless nights persist you may require help, since acute insomnia can lead to chronic insomnia and even extend to death.
Yes, if a person persists in losing sleep the body is affected immensely. People that suffer insomnia on a chronic level may later in life undergo heart problems. Heart attacks, strokes, high-blood pressure, diabetes and other major illnesses are common for those that go through continuing insomnia during their lifetime.
If you have ongoing insomnia attacks, it is critical to seek out medical treatment without delay. The doctor should do a series of testing to weed out any medical ailments that may be promoting insomnia. During the testing if, the doctor finds any reason that may cause insomnia you will be prescribed medications. Make sure you follow the doctor’s directions to the max to find respite. The medications may cause a few side effects, but the effects will not last long. The effects are often short lived since the body will adjust to the changes.
If you have a medical condition that is causing sleepless nights you may want to ask your doctor about diet and exercise. Studies have shown that those who exercise regularly and eat right often-live longer and healthier lifestyles and rarely suffer insomnia. If you are instructed to exercise, make sure you do the exercises during day hours and not before going to bed. Exercises will promote the adrenaline thus raising the body’s energy level. I suggest exercising early in the morning; since it will help, your body gets a great start on working properly during the day.
Diet is great for nourishing the body and mind, thus promoting healthier life spans and helping the mind find a source of relaxation. You will need to include vegetables, right amount of Carbs, fruits and other proper nutrition into your plan for a healthier life.
If you drink, you may want to slow down, and in particular avoid drinking alcohol during night hours. Alcohol will inflict sleepless nights and even if you are able to go to sleep at night, your will not get REM sleep. Caffeine should also be avoided at least five hours before bedtime. Nicotine also affects the body negatively, thus avoiding nicotine before bedtime is crucial for a calming nighttime.
If during the night you are still finding it hard to doze off you may want to listen to soft music, which relaxes the mind. Some people find it easy to fall a sleep while the television is playing. Make sure you keep the sound level low. You may want to read a good book also. Few people read at night, which relaxes the mind or bores the mind and the person is able to fall a sleep.
There is a choice of steps to take when a person is having trouble falling asleep. Again, if you have ongoing sleep problems then you could do with a visit to your doctor, since medical problems may exist. Learning to exercise and diet properly again, is critical so that the body and mind will have the proper nutrition and energy level to continue to exist. Fresh air can also help the body and mind relax. If during the night hours, you are having trouble resting, sit on the porch and allow the fresh air to graze your body, thus inducing calm and rest.
In conclusion, my best insomnia cure is avoidance of the negative influences of life at inappropriate times to bring about true insomnia relief.
